UPDATE: Suspects Arrested, Charged in Two Fatal Shootings

Charges have been filed against four suspects arrested in one kidnapping/fatal shooting incident at 5903 South Gessner and the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of another at 9745 Bissonnet in November 2016.

One suspect, Jairo Chicas-Raimundo (H/m, 23), is charged with capital murder and murder in the 184th State District Court.  Two other suspects, Juan J. Treminio (H/m, 30), and William Gerardo Cortez (H/m, 23), were previously charged with capital murder in the 176th State District Court.  A fourth suspect, Melvin O. Ramirez (H/m, 19), is charged with tampering with evidence in the 174th State District Court.

The suspects are accused in the deaths of Eleazar Vazquez in the incident at 5903 South Gessner and Adrian Castillo, 19, at 9745 Bissonnet.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Sturdivant and Officer W. Gilbert reported:

On November 8, 2016, HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the Houston CAN Academy at the above address.  According to witnesses, Mr. Castillo and another male were sitting in their vehicle in the parking lot of the school when they were blocked in by another vehicle.  Several suspects exited the second vehicle and fired several shots at Castillo and the other victim.  The suspects then fled the scene.  Castillo and the wounded male drove to an urgent care facility in the 5900 block of Chimney Rock where Castillo was pronounced deceased.  The second victim was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in stable condition.

An investigation was initiated and Chicas-Raimundo was subsequently identified as a suspect in the incident at 9745 Bissonnet.  Further investigation identified Chicas-Raimundo and suspects Cortez, Ramirez and Treminio, as being involved in an incident on November 5, 2016, at 5903 South Gessner, in which Eleazar Vazquez was taken against his will.  Mr. Vazquez was severely beaten and then taken to an area north of Rosharon, Texas, where he was fatally shot.  His body was later found in the 14900 block of F.M. 521 in Brazoria County.

All four suspects remain in custody in the Harris County Jail.  *No other information is available at this time*
