UPDATE: Suspect Sought in November 2021 Fatal Stabbing at 179 Aldine Bender Road

Houston police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect sought for his possible involvement in the fatal stabbing of one man and the stabbing of another at 179 Aldine Bender Road about 1:35 a.m. on November 28, 2021.  

The suspect is described only as a Hispanic male in his late 30s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 210 pounds.  He was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and a black ball cap.  A surveillance photo of the suspect is attached to this news release.

The deceased victim is identified as Alex Morales Zavala, 34.  The other victim, 36,  was transported to an area hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Lopez and Detectives L. Kauffman and  A. Hernandez reported:

Officers were dispatched to a stabbing call at a restaurant at the above address and located an unresponsive male and another wounded male on the ground outside the business.  Paramedics pronounced one of the men, later identified as Mr. Zavala, deceased and transported the other man to a hospital.  Both men had sustained multiple stab wounds.

Further investigation and evidence from the scene developed information on a possible suspect in this incident.  No charges have been filed at this time, as detectives wish to speak with the male in the photo to determine his role in the incident.
