UPDATE: Suspect Charged, Wanted in Shooting at 9833 Beechnut Street

Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the shooting of two males at 9833 Beechnut Street about 9:45 p.m. on October 23.

The suspect, Ja’Curtis Miller (b/m, 20), is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 184th State District Court.  He is accused in the shooting of Raul Orellana, 22,  who was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers V. Habukiha and B. Naughton reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex at the above address.  A preliminary investigation determined multiple males got into an argument and gunfire was exchanged.  Mr. Orellana and a second male were wounded in the gunfire.  Paramedics transported both men to the hospital.

Further investigation identified Miller as the suspect in this case and he was charged on Tuesday (October 29) for his role in the shooting.
