Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman at 2800 Vollmer Road about 6:55 a.m. on September 2.
The suspect, Brandon Bryant (b/m, 28), is charged with murder in the 209th State District Court. A booking photo of Bryant is attached to this news release.
The victim, Charity Shirley, 33, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives C. Sharp and E. May reported:
Officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found Ms. Shirley suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced deceased a short time later. Nearby residents reported hearing gunfire at approximately 6:35 a.m.
Further investigation led to the identity of Bryant as the suspect in this case. He was taken into custody on September 29 and subsequently charged with murder.
