UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 10800 Kipp Way Street

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 10800 Kipp Way Street about noon on February 15.

The suspect, Kempsha Lartha WIlson, 26, is charged with murder in the 176th State District Court.  He is accused in the death of Spencer Nichols, 32.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. Fregia, D. Higgs and Officers S. Chettry and D. Glass reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex at the above address and learned a male suspect got into an altercation with Mr. Nichols’ sister the night before.  The suspect later returned to the sister’s residence, at which time the suspect and Nichols got into an altercation.  The suspect then fatally shot Nichols and fled the scene.

Further investigation and witness statements identified Wilson as the suspect in this case.  Wilson was arrested on Thursday (February 24) on an unrelated narcotics charge and was subsequently charged for his role in Nichols’ death.
