Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man and the wounding of a woman at 5900 Selinsky Road about 4:50 p.m. on August 31, 2022.
The suspect, Julian Rafael Jones, 24, is charged with murder in the 482nd State District Court. A booking photo of Jones is attached to this news release.
He is accused in the death of Corey Shephard, 29, and the wounding of a female, 52.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Stroble and Detectives K. Collier, A. Graf II and M. Providence reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex at the above address and found a man (Mr. Shephard) with multiple gunshot wounds being treated by Houston Fire Department paramedics. A woman was also located with a gunshot wound to her leg. Both victims were transported to a hospital where Shephard was pronounced deceased.
Further investigation identified Jones as the suspect in this case. He was arrested on Monday (Jan. 20) and subsequently charged for his role in the shooting.
