Investigators in the Houston Police Homicide Division Cold Case Unit have arrested a suspect charged in a 2008 fatal shooting of a man at 3556 Ruth Street.
The suspect, Nnamdi Oranyelugo Ikeakor (b/m, 39), is charged with murder in the 177th State District Court. A booking photo of Ikeakor is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Dion Travis Snow, 41.
HPD Homicide Division Cold Case Unit Detective D. Shorten reported:
About 8:30 a.m. on January 14, 2008, Ikeakor went to his girlfriend’s home at the above address and observed her former boyfriend, Mr. Snow, standing in the driveway. The two men got into a verbal altercation that escalated when Ikeakor pulled a gun and shot Snow once in the stomach. Ikeakor then fled the scene. Snow was pronounced deceased at an area hospital.
Further investigation developed enough evidence for charges to be filed against Ikeakor. He was arrested last Thursday (June 10) and charged for his role in the shooting.
