Suspect Charged, Wanted in Fatal Stabbing at 8600 Sands Point Drive

Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal stabbing of a woman at 8600 Sands Point Drive about 4:25 a.m. on Sunday (March 8).

The suspect, Jeovany Sabillon-Portillo (H/m, 34) is charged with murder in the 228th State District Court.  A photo of Sabillon-Portillo is attached to this news release.

The identity of the victim, 27, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives N. Sharp and K. Fregia reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to an assault call at the apartment at the above address.  Upon arrival, they found the victim stabbed multiple times.  She was pronounced dead at the scene.  According to witnesses, the suspect, Sabillon-Portillo, was arguing with the victim before he began to assault her.  Witnesses then observed Sabillon-Portillo, partially clad and bloody, flee the scene.

It is believed Sabillon-Portillo fled in the victim’s white Toyota Camry with paper license tags.  He is known to have family in Dallas and may have fled there.
