Suspect Charged, Wanted in Fatal Shooting at 2502 West Little York Road

Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 2502 West Little York Road about 10:05 p.m. on Saturday (January 25).

The suspect, Demondrian McWright (b/m, 29), is charged with felon in possession of a weapon and murder in the 174th State District Court.  A prior photo of McWright is attached to this news release.

The victim, 36, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives M. Condon and A. Bock reported:

The victim, suspect, and three females were arguing in the parking lot of a convenience store at the above address.  During the argument, McWright shot the vicim multiple times before fleeing the scene.

Further investigation led to the identification and charging of McWright as the suspect in this case.  He remains wanted at this time.
