Suspect Charged, Wanted in Fatal Shooting at 11801 South Sam Houston Parkway East

Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a male at 11801 South Sam Houston Parkway East about 9:20 p.m. on Saturday (April 14).

The suspect, Adrian Mondragon (H/m, 22), is charged with murder in the 178th State District Court.  A previous booking photo of suspect Mondragon is attached to this news release.

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Officers M. Barrow and J. Stroble reported:

The victim and his girlfriend were leaving a movie theater at the above address and were confronted by the girlfriend's ex-boyfriend (Mondragon).  The suspect, armed with a rifle, fired one shot and struck the victim in the chest.  The victim died at the scene.  Mondragon then fled the scene in a black Chevrolet pickup truck and remains at large at this time.
