Suspect Arrested, Charged in Stabbing at 1000 Texas Avenue

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the stabbing of a man at 1000 Texas Avenue that occurred about 4:05 p.m. on Tuesday (August 3).

The suspect, Jeremy Cross (b/m, 34), is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 228th State District Court. A photo of Cross is attached to this news release.

He is accused of assaulting Terrence Terry, 42, who was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers M. Althaus and L. Castellanos reported:

HPD officers working an approved extra job at the above address were flagged down by a witness regarding an assault that was taking place. The officers witnessed Cross stabbing Mr. Terry multiple times. The officers gave multiple commands to Cross to drop the weapon and then safely took him into custody. Officers then administered first aid to Terry until Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived. Terry sustained multiple stab wounds and was transported to the hospital.
