Suspect Arrested, Charged in Shooting of Man at 6115 Will Clayton Parkway

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a man at 6115 Will Clayton Parkway about 6:25 p.m. on Wednesday (Aug. 21).

The suspect, Alexis Trenay Eubanks (b/f, 26), is charged with aggravated assault of a family member in the 248th State District Court.  A booking photo of Eubanks is attached to this news release.

The victim, Latouris Gilbert, 21, suffered a gunshot wound to the back and was transported to an area hospital.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers Z. Brumley and M. Althaus reported:

Mr. Gilbert and his girlfriend (Eubanks) were staying at a hotel at the above address and got into an argument that escalated when each began pushing and punching one another.  After the fight ended and as Gilbert was walking away, Eubanks pulled a pistol out of her clothes bag and shot Gilbert one time in the back.  Eubanks drove Gilbert to an urgent care facility and then returned to the scene, where she was taken into custody and subsequently charged.
