Suspect Arrested, Charged in Shooting at 3100 Noble Street

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a woman that occurred at 3100 Noble Street about 1:25 a.m. on Friday (February 25).

The suspect, Andrew Phillip Turk, 61, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and felon in possession of a firearm in the 339th State District Court.  A booking photo of Turk is attached to this news release.

The victim, Laporcha Walker, 25, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives B. Godoy and V. Guerrero reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found Ms. Walker with a gunshot wounds to her leg and thigh.  Houston Fire Department paramedics transported her to the hospital.

Walker told investigators Turk shot her while she and another female passenger were in Turk’s vehicle.  The other female passenger was unharmed.

Officers later located Turk and took him into custody without incident.  Turk confessed to his role in the shooting and was subsequently charged.
