Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Stabbing at 6300 Skyline Drive

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of one man and the stabbing of another at 6300 Skyline Drive about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday (September 27).

The suspect, Edwin Andres Velazquez-Vasquez (H/m, 26), is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 209th State District Court.  He is accused in the death of Jose Osorio, 30, who died at the scene.  A second victim, Jose Natareno-Tum, 23, suffered a stab wound to the back and was treated at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Horn and Detective J. Escobar reported:

HPD officers and HFD paramedics responded to a stabbing call at an apartment complex at the above address and found Messrs. Osorio and Natareno-Tum had been stabbed.  Paramedics pronounced Osorio deceased at the scene.  Natario-Tum told officers Velasquez-Vasquez stabbed them.

Officers located Velasquez-Vasquez near the scene and he admitted to his role in the stabbings of both men.  He was taken into custody and subsequently charged.
