Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Stabbing at 12314 Westella

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of a woman and wounding of a man at 12314 Westella about 6:05 p.m. last Friday (September 29).

The suspect, Kyriakos Savvas Georghiou (w/m, 27), is charged with murder and aggravated assault of a family member in the 248th State District Court.  He is accused in the killing of his mother and wounding of his father.

HPD Homicide Division Officers D. Crowder and J. Pickett reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to an assault call at the above address and found a male with multiple stab wounds being treated by HFD paramedics.  Georghiou then exited the residence carrying two knives and surrendered to police without incident.

Officers then entered the home and found a female inside the residence with multiple stab wounds.  She was pronounced deceased by HFD paramedics.

Georghiou was subsequently charged for his involvement in the incident.
