Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 6211 Conley Street

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 6211 Conley Street that occurred about 1 p.m. on Monday (October 19).

The suspect, Keenan Johnson (b/m, 27), is charged with murder in the 209th State District Court. A booking photo of Johnson is attached to this news release.

He is accused in the death of his step-father, Deshon Green, 47.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Lopez and Detective N. Sharp reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at a residence at the above address and found Mr. Green deceased inside from a gunshot wound.  A preliminary investigation determined Green and Johnson got into a verbal argument, which led to Green being shot by Johnson.  Johnson then fled the scene on foot.

Further investigation identified Johnson as the suspect in this case and, after consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Johnson was subsequently charged for his role in his step-father’s death.  A warrant was issued and Johnson was taken into custody without incident.
