Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 11207 Mulholland Drive

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman and the wounding of a man at 11207 Mulholland Drive that occurred about 3:30 a.m. today (Aug. 24).

The suspect, Joshua Cordell Williams (b/m, 33), is charged with murder and aggravated assault of a family member in the 176th State District Court.  A booking photo of Williams is attached to this news release.

He is accused in the killing of his mother, Cathy Williams, 64, and the wounding of his father, Joseph Williams, 72.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Cass and Detective K. Heaverlo reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at the residence at the above address and found one male victim and one female victim unresponsive.  Both victims had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.  Mrs. Williams had suffered a gunshot wound to the stomach was pronounced deceased at the scene . Paramedics transported Mr. Williams to the hospital in critical condition.

Joshua Williams was detained at the residence.  He later confessed to his role in shooting and was subsequently charged and booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center.
