Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 10135 Inwood Hollow Lane

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man and the wounding of a woman at 10135 Inwood Hollow Lane that occurred about 4:30 a.m. on Saturday (August 7).

The suspect, Larry A. Britton, Jr. (b/m, 37), is charged with murder and aggravated assault of a family member in the 177th State District Court. A booking photo of Britton, Jr. is attached to this news release.

He is accused in the death of his father, Larry Britton, Sr., 69. A female victim, Joanne Rosas, 40, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. Heaverlo and S. Sylvester reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a person down in the roadway at the above address and found a man, later identified as Mr. Britton, Sr., lying in the roadway. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased by paramedics. Officers were then advised of a second call from a female who stated she was inside the residence and had been shot multiple times.

Officers found the woman, later identified as Ms. Rosas, inside the residence with a gunshot wound to the head and torso. Paramedics transported her to the hospital.

Further investigation identified Larry A. Britton, Jr. as the suspect in this case and he was subsequently charged for his role in the incident. Britton was in custody on an unrelated assault of a peace officer and harassment of a public servant charges. Both incidents occurred after the death of his father and the assault of Rosas.
