Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 7600 East Freeway

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal crash that occurred at 7600 East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10) about 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday (October 14).

The suspect, Noah Daniel Everitt (w/m, 36) is charged with felony murder in the 230th State District Court.  A booking photo of Everitt is not available at this time, as he remains hospitalized.

The identity of the female victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer C. Cisneros reported:

The driver of a white GMC pickup truck was traveling westbound on the East Freeway when a white Subaru Impresa also traveling westbound at a high rate of speed struck the rear of the pickup truck.  The driver of the Subaru lost control of the vehicle and rolled over several times before coming to a stop on the left shoulder retaining wall of the freeway.  The female passenger in the Subaru died at the scene.  The driver of the Subaru (Everitt) was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  The driver and passenger of the pickup truck were not injured.

Everitt was determined to be impaired and subsequently charged for his role in the crash.
