Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 6200 South Sam Houston Parkway

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal crash that occurred at 6200 South Sam Houston Parkway about 9:25 p.m. last Friday (December 14).

The suspect, Christian Liddell-Campbell (b/m, 22), was charged with driving while intoxicated in Harris County Criminal Court 4.  A booking photo of Liddell-Campbell is attached to this news release.

The male victim, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Klementich and Officer J. Crisler reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a major crash at the above address.  Upon arrival, they observed two vehicles to be involved in the crash, a tan Chrysler Town & Country minivan and a white Toyota Camry.  Investigators learned the minivan’s driver (Liddell-Campbell) was traveling southbound on West Fuqua Street when he entered the intersection at the same time as the driver of the Toyota.  The vehicles collided and the Toyota’s driver died at the scene.  At this time, it is unclear which driver had the right ofway.

Liddell-Campbell showed signs of intoxication, was detained and subsequently charged.
