Suspect Arrested, Charged in Death of Man Found at 11810 Hammond Drive

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the death of a man found at 11810 Hammond Drive about 11:15 p.m. last Wednesday (Dec. 23).

The suspect, Kelly Slayton (w/f, 24), is charged with murder in the 232nd State District Court.  A booking photo of Slayton is not available at this time.

The identity of the victim, 30, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives R. Naughton and L. Patterson reported:

On December 22, Texas Department of Public Safety troopers notified HPD homicide detectives that a female (Slayton) was arrested in Comanche County, Texas, on December 20 and driving the vehicle of a missing person from Houston.

Detectives were advised that Slayton was involved in an aggravated assault road rage incident in Hamilton, Texas, and then fled from DPS troopers into Comanche, TX, where she crashed the vehicle and was arrested.

Homicide detectives located where Slayton resides and obtained video of her leaving the apartment complex at the above address in the male victim’s vehicle. Detectives obtained a search warrant on December 23 for the apartment and found the male victim deceased with an apparent gunshot wound.
