One Suspect Arrested, Another Sought in June Shooting at 1063 Edgebrook Drive

Charges have been filed against one suspect wanted and another arrested in the shooting of two women at 1063 Edgebrook Drive about 11:15 p.m. on June 12.

The wanted suspect, Nathaniel Davis, 21, is charged with deadly conduct in the 177th State District Court. A January booking photo of Davis, who is not in custody at this time, is attached to this news release.

A second suspect, Johnny Lynn Ward, 23, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 177th State District Court. A Galveston County Sheriff’s Office booking photo of Ward is attached to this news release.

Both are accused in the shooting of Saira Lemus, 21, and Fatima Mejia Chuchilla, 21.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Sergeant V. Garcia and Detective D. Crandall reported:

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at a taco truck in a parking lot at the above address and learned a fight had escalated between two groups that led to a shooting. Ms. Lemus and Ms. Mejia Chuchilla, employees of the taco truck, were struck in the exchange of gunfire. Both were transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to area hospitals in stable condition.

Further investigation identified Ward as the shooter, and he was arrested on October 8 by the La Marque Police Department. He is being held in the Galveston County Jail. Davis was identified as the second suspect, who discharged his weapon recklessly into the crowd of people and he remains at-large.
