Houston police are investigating the stabbing of a man at 3003 Ella Boulevard about 11 a.m. on Thursday (Oct. 29).
The victim, Benjamin Russell, 56, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers J. Russell and L. Hicks reported:
A male (suspect) told officers he entered the bathroom in the gas station at the above address when Mr. Russell walked inside the room and attacked him from behind for no apparent reason. The male stated he then stabbed Russell in self-defense.
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing. Anyone with additional information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division at 713-308-8800.
