The Quirogas (father and son) were driving southbound in the 1500 block of Fannin Street when they became involved in a road rage incident with the driver of a gray or silver van.  The incident led to both drivers traveling eastbound in the 1400 block of West Bellfort Avenue, where the driver of the van positioned himself behind the Quiroga’s vehicle and began shooting.  Ricardo Quiroga returned fire but it is unknown at this time if the suspect was struck.  Both Quirogas were struck by the gunfire and were transported by paramedics to the hospital.

The driver of the van fled the scene.
