Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man and a woman at 8405 Broadway Street about 9:30 p.m. on Monday (Aug. 5).
The male victim, Akannka Williams, 20, suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The female victim, Patricia Block, 57, was shot in the hip. Both were transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives C. Bowling and A. Ferrell reported:
Mr. Williams stated he was standing inside the apartment complex at the above address when someone started firing shots from the back of the complex. Williams said he argued with a group of males earlier and they might be the suspects. Ms. Block stated she felt herself get struck, but did not see who fired the shots.
