| Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 5711 Pershing Street about 11:40 p.m. on Saturday (July 4).
The victim, Donovan Carter, 26, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives G. Black and A. Ferrell reported:
Mr. Carter was at his home at the above address and went outside to retrieve his cell phone. At that time, an unknown male suspect fired multiple shots at Carter, striking him at least twice. HFD paramedics transported Carter to the hospital.
The suspect is described only as a black male.
