Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man following an assault at 3860 South Gessner Road about 6:45 a.m. on Sunday (March 7).
Both the victim, Charlie Montiel, 34, and the suspect, 31, were transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective S. Hall and Officer C. Brannen reported:
Mr. Montiel is a security guard at a night club at the above address. According to witnesses, the suspect was involved in an altercation outside the club and left to get his vehicle. He then returned and struck Montiel with his vehicle.
According to a second male victim, 32, the suspect then turned his vehicle toward him. The second victim then discharged his firearm, striking the suspect in the left hand. The second victim (shooter) was not injured.
There are no charges. pending further investigation.
