Investigation into Shooting at 1401 Franklin Street

Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man and a woman at 1401 Franklin Street about 12:45 a.m. today (June 9).

The victims, Jose Reyes, 20, and Melary Guajardo, 19, were transported to an area hospital.  At last report, Mr. Reyes was in critical condition and Ms. Guajardo was in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults and Family Violence Division Detectives B. Godoy and A. Graf reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a reported shooting at the above address and learned each victim had been struck one time.  Mr. Reyes suffered a gunshot wound to the neck and Ms. Guajardo suffered a gunshot wound to the torso.  Officers also learned the actual shooting had taken place at an unknown location.

Guajardo stated she and Reyes were approached by three unknown black males, ages 18-25, who began shooting at them.  She was able to drive away to the above location.
