Houston police are investigating the death of a person found at 14833 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) service road about 3:20 a.m. today (July 28).
The gender, identity and cause of death of the victim are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. Meek and Detective S. Overstreet reported:
A security guard making his rounds at the hotel at the above address found a vehicle on fire in a back parking lot. Houston Fire Department firefighters responded and discovered the remains of the deceased behind the wheel of the vehicle.
The security guard had made several previous rounds of the parking lot and reported no other suspicious activity.
