Houston police have learned a man wounded in an apparent stabbing at 4350 Airline Drive about 11:35 p.m. on May 24 has died.
The victim, Tito Varela, 44, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where, on Monday (May 31), he was pronounced deceased.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives W. Huff and J. Nguyen reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to an assault call at the above address. Upon arrival, they learned Mr. Varela was apparently cut or stabbed and transported to the hospital by Houston Fire Department paramedics.
Varela’s cause of death is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
There are no known suspect(s) or motive in this case. The investigation is pending results of the autopsy.
