Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 7914 Lavender Street about 5:35 p.m. on Wednesday (February 17).
The identity of the victim, 48, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives C. Flora and A. Henderson reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting in the street at the above address and found the victim unresponsive lying next to a vehicle. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced him deceased.
A preliminary investigation indicated the victim was shot at his own residence and then drove down the street where he died. One person of interest was questioned and stated there was a physical altercation, which resulted in a fight for the gun and the victim being shot multiple times.
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
