Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man found at 7510 Burgoyne Road about 10:30 p.m. last Friday (January 17).
The identity of the victim, 26, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. Daignault and Detective M. Arrington reported:
Friends of the victim went to visit him at his apartment at the above address. After knocking on the door and getting no response, they noticed the door was unlocked. The friends entered the apartment and found the victim unresponsive on the floor of his bedroom. HFD paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
There were indications that items in the apartment had been moved due to an unknown suspect(s) possibly searching for something. A preliminary investigation determined the victim had last spoken with someone about 6 p.m.
