Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of another at 7132 Avenue Q about 3:10 a.m. today (Jan. 21).
The identity of the deceased male is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Mill and Detective D. Stark reported:
Officers responded to a report of a home invasion at the above address and found two males had been shot and a third male assaulted. All three males were transported to an area hospital where the victim was pronounced deceased. The second shooting victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition. A third male was treated and released with non-life threatening injuries.
Witnesses stated three to four masked males entered the front door of the residence and began shooting and assaulting the victims. The suspects then fled on foot.
