Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and woman that occurred at 5000 Idaho Street about 7:20 p.m last Friday (Sept. 6).
The male victim, Rashad Brown, 37, and the female victim, Shaksha Powell, 31, were pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Officers M. Arrington and L. Patterson reported:
Officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found Ms. Powell lying in an empty lot. While gathering information, officers were flagged down and directed to the 4900 block of Radial Street where Mr. Brown was found deceased.
Investigators learned an unknown male suspect walked up to Brown with a gun and then shot him multiple times. The suspect then chased Powell and shot her at least one time. The suspect fled the scene on foot running westbound on Weston Street.
