Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 3700 Wood Valley

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a male that occurred at 3700 Wood Valley at about 11 a.m. on Friday (Nov. 2).

The identity of the victim, 63, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives T. Colbert and R. Ridel reported:

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at the above address and found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Witnesses describing hearing the victim and the suspect talking inside a vehicle in the driveway of a vacant property and then seeing the victim walk away from the vehicle. The suspect fired multiple shots at the victim and the victim continued walking down the street. The suspect then pulled up next to the victim and shot him two more times before fleeing the scene. Investigators do not believe the suspect nor victim lived in the neighborhood.

The suspect, described only as a black male, is believed to be driving the victim’s 2013 Silver Toyota Corolla with paper tag #0978K5. Surveillance video of the vehicle can be found on the HPD YouTube page at https://youtu.be/Yp_kM3wDAk0.
