Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 8800 Mesa Drive about 6:30 a.m. today (Sept. 9).
The identity of the male victim, 61, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Senior Police Officer R. Saenz reported:
The driver of a white Ford Ranger pickup truck was headed north on Mesa when the victim stepped out into the roadway, not in a crosswalk, and was struck by the Ford. The victim was transported to Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Ford, who remained at the scene and did not show signs of intoxication, was questioned and released.
