Houston police are investigating a crash that occurred at 8300 South Sam Houston Parkway West service road about 4:25 a.m. today (December 11).
The male victim, approximately 45, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Uribe and Officer J. Johnson reported:
The driver of a blue Hyundai Santa Fe was eastbound at the above address when the victim, driving a gray Dodge Durango, ran the red light while traveling northbound on Fondren Road.The driver of the Hyundai struck the Dodge, causing it to overturn. The Dodge’s driver died at the scene. The Hyundai’s driver was not injured and showed no signs of intoxication.There are no charges in this incident, as the investigation is continuing.
