Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 7900 West Little York Road about 4 a.m. today (Oct. 15).
The identity of the male victim, 42, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer D. Hoang reported:
The victim’s vehicle was stopped/disabled and blocking the two eastbound lanes at the above address. The driver of a maroon Nissan Rogue was traveling eastbound when he observed the vehicle and swerved to the right to avoid hitting it. As it swerved, the Nissan struck the victim located outside the vehicle near the edge of the roadway. The driver immediately stopped. Paramedics were called and pronounced the victim deceased.
The driver, 24, was questioned, showed no signs of intoxication and was subsequently released.
The investigation is continuing.
