Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 7200 Beechnut Street about 6:50 a.m. today (Sept. 17).
The identity of the male victim, 62, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross and Officer A. Hart reported:
The victim was driving a white Honda CRV westbound at the above address when his vehicle crossed over the raised center median, the eastbound lanes and struck an iron fence to an apartment complex. The Honda continued through the fence and then struck two parked sport utility vehicles.
Paramedics were called and pronounced the victim deceased. It is believed the driver possibly suffered a medical episode causing him to lose control of the vehicle.
The investigation is continuing.
