Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6300 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 12:15 a.m. on Sunday (Feb. 2).
The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Benavidez and Officer G. Anderson reported:
The victim, a pedestrian, was attempting to cross the main lanes of the Gulf Freeway when he was struck by a silver Range Rover traveling northbound on the freeway. The driver immediately stopped and remained at the scene. Paramedics arrived and pronounced the victim deceased.
The driver, who did not show visible signs of intoxication, was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
