Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6100 South Sam Houston Parkway East about 1:50 a.m. today (April 1).
The identity of the male victim, 31, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Pham and Officer D. Hoang reported:
The victim was driving a gray Ford Edge at the above address and lost control of the vehicle. Witnesses told officers the Ford was traveling at a high rate of speed, when another vehicle of unknown make and model attempted to make a lane change in front of the Ford. The driver of the Ford lost control of the vehicle and struck a light pole.
Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. investigators would like to speak with the driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash.
The investigation is continuing.
