Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 6100 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 2:05 a.m. today (August 3).
The identity of the female victim, 21, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Uribe and Officer J. Roberson reported:
The victim was driving a white Ford Fusion northbound on the Gulf Freeway when she failed to maintain a single lane and struck a tree on the right side of the median. The vehicle then spun around, ejecting the victim, before coming to a rest on the service road. Paramedics pronounced the driver deceased at the scene.
The investigation is continuing.
