Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 4900 Old Spanish Trail about 3:35 p.m. on Tuesday (Aug. 13).
The identity of the male victim, 60, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Warhol and Officer N. Luu reported:
The victim, a bicyclist, was attempting to cross Old Spanish Trail – not at a crosswalk – when his bicycle was struck by a silver Chevrolet Impala traveling westbound at the above address. Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
The female driver, 29, remained at the scene, did not show signs of intoxication, and was questioned and released without charges.
The investigation is continuing.
