Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 4700 Kingwood Drive about 8:25 p.m. last Friday (May 3).
The identity of the female victim, 25, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Benavidez and Officer D. Hoang reported:
A witness stated the victim was driving a black Jeep Liberty westbound at the above address when her vehicle changed lanes, went off the roadway and crashed into a grassy ditch. It is believed the victim’s vehicle struck a large downed tree branch – likely knocked down by storms – before the vehicle left the road. Paramedics transported the victim to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
The investigation is continuing.
