Investigation into Fatal Crash at 4600 Scott Street

A woman injured in a crash that occurred at 4600 Scott Street about 11:20 a.m. on Monday (April 1) has died.

The identity of the female victim, 62, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Lopez and Officer D. Nguyen reported:

The driver of a blue Infinity EX35 was traveling northbound on Scott Street and, as she made a left turn onto Blodgett, her vehicle was struck by a tan Ford Taurus.  At this time, it has not been determined who was at fault in the crash.  The driver of the Infinity was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries and released later that day.  The driver of the Taurus was cited for failure to show proof of financial responsibility (car insurance).

The victim was found unresponsive in her residence in Fort Bend County today (April 5).  Paramedics transported her to CHI St. Lukes Health-Sugarland Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.  Her cause of death will be determined by the Galveston County Medical Examiner's Office.

The investigation is continuing.
