Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 400 Greens Road about 12:30 a.m. on Sunday (May 24).
The male victim, 41, was transported to HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest where he was pronounced deceased. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer T. Smith reported:
The victim was riding a stand-up scooter when he exited a strip center parking lot and entered the intersection at Northchase Drive without the right-of-way. He was then struck by a green GMC pickup truck traveling westbound on Greens Road. The pickup truck’s driver remained at the scene. Paramedics were called and transported the victim to the hospital.
At this time, there are conflicting reports as to whether the pickup truck’s driver had a red light at the time of the crash.
There are no charges in this incident, pending further investigation.
