Investigation into Fatal Crash at 3600 Airport Boulevard

A woman critically injured in a crash that occurred at 3600 Airport Boulevard about 11:40 a.m. on September 2 has died.  

The identity of the victim, 84, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant C. Prejean and Southeast Patrol Division Officer K. Williams reported:

The driver of a blue 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt ran the red light while making a left turn at the intersection of Scott Street and Airport Boulevard.  The victim, driving a silver Ford Escape northbound on Scott Street, struck the Cobalt. The victim was transported by paramedics to Memorial Hermann Hospital.  Doctors pronounced her deceased on September 13.  Both the driver and passenger in the Cobalt were also transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in an unknown condition.

No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
