Investigation into Fatal Crash at 11300 Martin Luther King Boulevard

Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 11300 Martin Luther King Boulevard about 11:55 p.m. on Tuesday (Aug. 24).

The identity of the female victim, 62, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer D. Hoang reported:

According to witnesses, two vehicles appeared to have been racing southbound at the above address when one of them, a black Lincoln MKZ, struck the victim, a pedestrian, as she was crossing the street eastbound in a crosswalk at the intersection with Selinsky Road.  The driver of the Lincoln fled the scene without stopping to render aid.  Paramedics were called and pronounced the victim deceased.
