Houston police are investigating the fatal auto-pedestrian crash that occurred at 10100 Telephone Road about 1:25 a.m. on Sunday (April 3).
The identity of the male victim, 27, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer C. Brothers reported:
The driver of a black Honda CRV was driving northbound, at a high rate of speed, when the vehicle struck the victim, a pedestrian, in the roadway. The victim was thrown from the crash site and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Honda continued on Telephone, without stopping to render aid. The driver then abandoned the vehicle about a quarter mile down the roadway and fled the scene. The driver remains at-large.
