Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 13201 Sharpbill Drive about 11:45 a.m. on Saturday (Sept. 7).
The identity of the male victim, 71, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Lopez and Officer D. Ashford reported:
The victim was driving a silver Toyota Rav 4 eastbound at the above address when he failed to yield the right of way leaving a stop sign at the intersection of Synott Road. His vehicle was struck by a copper Nissan Titan traveling southbound on Synott. Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Nissan remained at the scene, did not show any signs of intoxication and was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
